A road trip to Big Sur, with a visit and a stay at the home of artist Emile Norman and Brooks Clement

Dave and I recently enjoyed a road trip down south to Big Sur. We had the good fortune and felt privileged to stay at the beautiful artistic home of Emile Norman and Brooks Clement. The home sits high atop the Pfeiffer Ridge overlooking the California coast and Point Sur. Emile Norman is the artist who created the four-story tall window inside Masonic Auditorium on Nob Hill in San Francisco, and the large figures on the face of the building outside.

The history of the Freemasons in California is depicted in the large window inside of Masonic Auditorium on Nob Hill. The window was created in 1957-58 by Emile Norman with the help of his partner Brooks Clement. For more photos and information about the window and building, go to:
